I bought Sony Vaio FZ21M which is the same but has a 200GB hdd and a blu-ray player instead of the DVD-RW device! Great all around laptop!

Nice writeup, I just did one for my laptop shopping too. I ended up with a Dell that has most of the specs yours has, but it’s the Vostro, so it was only ~600$US. It’s not as thin or light as the Sony I’m sure, but still, it’s not lacking in any other areas, and meets my requirements for supporting Linux. You can check it out here:
