If you have an iPhone, you will probably have came across webclip icons.  Webclip icons are the icons that apear on your iphone homescreen when you bookmark a web site. It is very easy to create a webclip for your own web site. Let’s see how:

1. Create a 57×57 png icon with your logo or whatever you want.
2. Save the image as “apple-touch-icon.png”.
3. Upload the image to the root folder of your web site (not the root of your server, the root of your site).
4. Do not mind about designing a glossy icon because MobileSafari (the browser of iPhone) will create the glossy effect by itself.

You can see the webclip I created for Typpz blog on the screenshot. As I mentioned glossy effect and round edges are created by Safari, I just uploaded this image.

There too many browsers there available for download (for free). Many of them are commonly used, like Firefox and Internet Explorer, and some others are dedicated to smaller user groups, like Shiira and Flock. Vote below for the browser you use! Poll will end on 29 November 2007.

In the last few days, updates were realised for two of the most commonly used web browsers. Safari 3 beta updated to version 3.03 and Firefox to version 2.0.0.6. Both updates fix serious security and stability issues, so it is recommended to install them as soon as possible. If you use Firefox, it will automatically inform you for the update and will be updated the next time you restart the program. Safari can be updated using the Apple Software Update program (looks also for iTunes and Quick Time updates) or by visiting Apple’s web site. After the update to Firefox 2.0.0.6 all of my installed extensions worked. Safari 3.0.3 fixes also some javascript and text issues.
